A native of Switzerland, champion tennis player Roger Federer was born in 1981 and has sat in the top 10 of tennis players worldwide since 2002. Sports stars often have a string of beautiful or handsome boyfriends and girlfriends, but Roger’s been completely dedicated to his sport ever since he became highly ranked on the worldwide ladder. He’s also had just one woman in his life for many years.

Known worldwide for his dedication to his sport, Roger once said that he’d choose tennis over a girlfriend, and as a consequence he wasn’t connected to any girlfriends at the start of his career. If not for a lucky meeting in his teens, the only Roger Federer girlfriend might have been the sport of tennis.

At the Sydney Olympics, Roger would start pursuing the woman who would become his wife and the mother of his children, fellow tennis player Miroslava Vavrinec. When interviewed, Miroslava said that they first started hanging out during the Olympics and that by the end of the games he kissed her. He was just 18 years old, and she was only 21 when they met.

Sports stars often have a habit of getting into relationships with other sports stars, or they date famous models or celebrities. Roger Federer’s relationship with Mirka (as she’s known by friends) is one that started because they were both tennis stars.

She would support him throughout his career for the decade after the Sydney Olympics after her retirement in 2002 because of an injured foot. For much of the next decade, Mirka would follow Federer around the world as he participated in major tennis championships like Wimbledon, the French Open, and the US Open.

In 2009, the world finally saw a Roger Federer wife when he married Mirka in a ceremony in Riehen, which is a city in Switzerland. Since their marriage, Federer and his wife have had four children, but the amazing thing is that Mirka has only been pregnant twice since the couple had two sets of adorable twins.

Just a few months after their wedding in 2009, Mirka gave birth to identical twins that the couple named Charlene and Myla. In 2004, the family welcomed another set of twins, both boys, which they named Lennart and Leo. The love story between Roger and Mirka is one for the ages, and it will be fun to see whether the tennis skills of their children will eclipse those of their parents.
